Welcome

Here at the lodge we create an environment that’s people-friendly and eco-friendly. We value relationships and want to compliment your gathering. Whether its friends, family, or friends who are like family, the lodge is meant to be a medium to bring people together and foster good feelings. We want to make sure you feel at home during your stay. If you need anything while visiting, please feel comfortable to ask. We are here to help make your stay the best it can be!

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A place rooted in the importance of relationships and immersed in the quiet, intimate setting of the forest and open pastures.  It’s a perfect backdrop for memorable, meaningful and enriching experiences.

The Land

Folk Tree Lodge is nested in a beautiful and intimate natural setting with 30+ acres of nature for you to explore and enjoy. It is surrounded by a pristine forest with an abundance of natural beauty, wildlife and rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. You will discover vast open fields, a winding creek spanning the property, and a small pond. Venture just down the highway and you are in the magnificent Kananaskis country, a recreation area teeming with opportunities for nature exploration and outdoor fun. Come and experience the beauty for yourself!

Wow! What a rich area… We noted 10 species of orchids, one of the highest numbers in such a restricted area in Southern Alberta. Undoubtedly, there are others that we have not yet seen. Gus Yaki, Naturalist

History

Originally a private horse ranch in the woods of the Kananaskis country, some of the original structures date back to the 1930’s. Back in 2001, Paola and Alvise undertook the endeavor to start a lodge. Transformational renovations ensued, and with their combined care, skill, and attention to detail, the vision slowly actualized into the Folk Tree Lodge. As the new owners (early 2015), we have undertaken this project with great enthusiasm, a strong vision, and a positive outlook for the future.
