“We stayed at Folk Tree Lodge to celebrate a birthday with friends and family. The kitchen had everything we could need, and the open dining/cooking area is where we seemed to congregate, as the weather did not co-operate for some of our stay. The kids loved the playhouse, and we had a good bonfire on the first night of our stay. The manager of the property was very helpful, and located a playpen for the youngest of our group right away. My only disappointment was a lack of fireplace in the main lodge. The bins full of sports equipment on the deck were a great touch as well. We would love to return!!“

We had a 3 yr. and 1 yr. old who found everything magic – from the lego to play with and the beautifully carved beds with bird carvings and decorated ceilings to look at to the friendly animals and swings outside. Everything needed for comfort was attended to – from the BBQ and fire-pit to all kitchen amenities and comfy beds and bedding. The scenery was a dream. The owners were wonderfully kind and hospitable. I cannot rate it highly enough.“

“The drive is only 30 to 45 minutes west of Calgary and is in the foothills of the Rockies near the town of Bragg Creek. There are lots of outdoor things to participate in (bring your own bike, hiking equipment, cross country skis etc.) and opportunities to quietly sit and contemplate in the serene surroundings.”

Spacious rooms with nature being the bedroom curtain. Loved the kitchen with the prep area. I really loved the soft water, too. Made me feel like I was back on the coast with my skin and hair being plump and soft. The ability to have privacy surrounded by nature was amazing!

In de grootste lodge was een grote ruimte waar we net zijn allen konden koken en eten. Prachtige sfeervolle slaapkamers en alles was netjes en schoon. het waren grandioze dagen! De lodge ligt vlakbij prachtige bezienswaardigheden en ook de winkels in Brag Creek zijn vlakbij. Een aanrader!!
M Boersma2023-09-30Little delayed on the review, but I wanted to say thank you again to Folk Tree Lodge for a wonderful stay and for allowing us to host a wedding here. I got married in July and the location was perfect for all my guests. They were a little delayed in getting the rooms setup as a large group had just checked out, but they were extremely apologetic, transparent, and gave us a bundle of firewood for the weekend free as compensation for the time (It was so beautiful outside, we didn't mind waiting). During the whole process, everyone was so responsive leading up to the wedding, during the time there, and after, allowing us to call or text if we had any questions. Our guests loved the location, their rooms, and they had nothing but good things to say. It was such an enjoyable weekend, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to have our special day in such a beautiful spot. We highly recommend, whether it is a weekend getaway, or to have a retreat, it is just a great spot. Thank you again, we look forward to staying again sometime :)

History
Bragg Creek, Alberta, Canada.
Originally a private horse ranch in the woods of the Kananaskis country, some of the original structures date back to the 1930’s. Back in 2001, Paola and Alvise undertook the endeavor to start a lodge. Transformational renovations ensued, and with their combined care, skill, and attention to detail, the vision slowly actualized into the Folk Tree Lodge. As the new owners (early 2015), we have undertaken this project with great enthusiasm, a strong vision, and a positive outlook for the future.

Our cabins offer the perfect blend of rustic charm, country contemporary design and artistic craftsmanship.
