The loft bedroom was a great hangout for our kids, and we enjoyed opening gifts under the Christmas tree that was set up in the sunroom. Most of all, we enjoyed having a wood-burning fire in the living room fireplace! While we were there, we were able to play some shinny on the pond (the two benches worked well as nets!), as well as snowshoe through the woods.

We had “our family Christmas” in this cabin Dec 20-22, 2013 for 7 adults, this was the gift we chose for our family rather than purchasing gifts. It was the best choice we’ve ever made, a truly wonderful weekend.

The grounds are immaculate and offer lots of hiking trails, a big campfire circle and plenty of area for quiet contemplation. Deer wander around the property and songbirds abound. The location is secluded but just minutes from the shops in the hamlet of Bragg Creek, and close to the all-weather trails and amenities in Bragg Creek Provincial Park.

This is an excellent lodge for a family retreat. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, ample space to gather all together and also space to get away on your own to refresh. There is a young couple on-site managing the day-to-day operations who were helpful but not at all invasive. We were left to our own devices for the whole weekend and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the property, the town nearby and of course some of the amazing hiking trails.

Thank you so much for letting us share your paradise in the trees! Your Deer House was the perfect accommodation for our family. We enjoyed everything about your oasis.., the cats, skating pond, tree house, walking trails and especially the Deer Lodge and all the handmade touches.

There are enough distractions around the property to keep kids busy (tree house, skating, farm animals) while the adults enjoy the peaceful location and beautifully appointed cabins. I have recommended this property to many and will continue to do so.

I had the pleasure to stay at the Folk Tree Lodge in beautiful Bragg Creek during a yoga retreat. What an amazing place this is! Out and away from it all, but only 5 minutes from the Bragg Creek hamlet with wonderful shops and restaurants. The hosts are very friendly and warm people. I would highly recommend making Bragg Creek and Folk Tree Lodge your destination on your next trip.

The drive is only 30 to 45 minutes west of Calgary and is in the foothills of the Rockies near the town of Bragg Creek. There are lots of outdoor things to participate in (bring your own bike, hiking equipment, cross country skis etc.) and opportunities to quietly sit and contemplate in the serene surroundings.

Our family of six stayed for 3 days – absolute bliss. We had a 3 yr. and 1 yr. old who found everything magic – from the lego to play with and the beautifully carved beds with bird carvings and decorated ceilings to look at to the friendly animals and swings outside. Everything needed for comfort was attended to – from the BBQ and fire-pit to all kitchen amenities and comfy beds and bedding. The scenery was a dream. The owners were wonderfully kind and hospitable. I cannot rate it highly enough.
